John is a consulting microbiologist to Simplr Health and has a special interest in promoting optimal gut health. Originally a microbiologist with the NSW Department of Agriculture, John was then approached to become a leading Microbiologist in the dairy industry where he generated significant innovations towards direct-to-the-vat yogurt/Italian cheese culture for world production.



In 1993 John became a member of the Management Committee for the Australian Government-funded Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) for Food Industry Innovation. The major programme in this CRC was “Probiotics and Prebiotics” and involved researchers from UNSW, CSIRO and industry. Under John’s scientific leadership, they developed an evolving range of Super-Synbiotic products with vastly superior performance.
